Couples Therapy In Marin: Stabilizing the Relationship and Rebuilding Emotional Connection for Lasting Love

Attachment-based couples therapy for partners who feel disconnected, stuck in the same argument, or more like roommates than a team, and are ready to rebuild something secure

  • Learn to recognize your own attachment style, and your partner's, so conflict becomes a doorway to closeness instead of distance.

  • Uncover the unconscious patterns quietly running your relationship, and replace them with a partnership built on intention and honesty.

  • Build a secure, resilient bond that can hold real life: parenthood, stress, conflict, change, without losing each other.

"Couple talking with a therapist during couples therapy session in California"

I work with a lot of couples who've stopped being able to talk to each other, sometimes for years. I'm going to be straight with you: not every relationship can be saved. What you need right now isn't someone to sit and listen. You need clarity on what to do next, for you, for your partner, and for your kids.

A lot of therapists are warm and caring and will let you talk it out session after session. That's not how I work. I'll treat you with respect, but I'm going to be direct, and I'll tell you the truth about what has to change.

I am a PACT (the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) trained therapist that can help you build secure functioning, strengthen your emotional bond, and take shared responsibility for your relationship instead of pointing fingers. We'll look at how your attachment history, nervous system responses, and learned patterns are actually driving the conflict or distance between you, and go after the interaction cycles that keep you stuck, not another round of circling and blame.

I'm collaborative and nonjudgmental, but I'm not going to sugarcoat what I see. Emotional safety matters, and so does honesty. In therapy I'll help you slow your reactivity, build real emotional awareness, and communicate in ways that actually land. You'll learn what the real problems are and how to de-escalate conflict without avoiding it, so you can calm your nervous systems, get back on the same team, and repair quickly when things go sideways, using presence, timing, and attunement instead of the same old fight.

You'll walk away understanding your attachment style and your partner's, and the unconscious patterns that have been running your relationship. The goal isn't perfection. It's the capacity to stay engaged, responsive, and aligned, even under stress. The couples I work with get results, and fast, because I expect you to implement what we talk about, not just discuss it.

Therapy for Couples Navigating Parenthood

As a therapist, a parent, and a former workaholic, I understand how caregiving, career demands, and personal identity shifts collide in modern partnerships. Parenthood in particular can rewire the entire relationship system at incredible speed.

I specialize in working with new parents, including dads navigating postpartum shifts who are adjusting to the emotional, physical, and logistical demands of this life stage. In therapy, we address issues like emotional availability, parenting teamwork, sexual intimacy, and identity loss after children.

The relationship you had before kids doesn't just quietly continue underneath the new schedule. It gets renegotiated, whether you talk about it or not. Sleep loss, the mental load of keeping a household running, and the sheer logistics of caring for another human being can turn even a strong partnership into two people passing each other in the hallway. Resentment tends to build in the gaps nobody had time to name.

A lot of the couples I work with come in feeling like they're on the same team on paper but not in practice. One partner is managing the household, the other is managing work, and somewhere in there the relationship itself stopped getting managed at all. We work on making the invisible labor visible, rebuilding a sense of partnership around parenting rather than parallel survival, and finding your way back to each other physically and emotionally, not just logistically.

I bring my own experience as a working parent into this room, not as a script, but as context for why I take this stage of life seriously. You don't have to wait until things feel unmanageable to get support. Early is easier than late and it’s a privilege to work with growing families at such an important period in their lives.
