Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Therapy with Hunter ("I," "me," or "my") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share when you visit this website, therapywithhunter.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information I collect, how I use it, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to the Site itself. It is separate from, and does not replace, the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices provided to clients at the start of treatment, which governs how protected health information shared during therapy is used and disclosed.
Information I Collect
Information you provide directly. When you fill out a contact form, request a free consultation, or email me, I collect the information you choose to share, which may include your name, email address, phone number, and any details about what brings you to therapy.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this Site uses cookies and similar tracking technologies (through Squarespace, my website platform) to collect information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and how you arrived at the Site. This helps me understand how the Site is used and improve it over time.
Information from third parties. If you schedule a consultation or session through a third-party scheduling tool, that provider's own privacy policy governs the information collected during that process.
How I Use Your Information
I use the information collected through this Site to:
Respond to inquiries and schedule consultations
Communicate with you about services
Understand how visitors use the Site so I can improve it
Meet legal and administrative obligations
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not use it for advertising or marketing unrelated to my practice.
Cookies & Analytics
This Site may use cookies and analytics tools (such as those built into Squarespace) to understand visitor behavior in aggregate. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the Site may not function as intended if you do.
Third-Party Links & Services
This Site may link to third-party services, such as Psychology Today, Open Path Collective, or payment and scheduling platforms. I am not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party sites. I encourage you to review their privacy policies directly.
Data Security
I take reasonable steps to protect the information collected through this Site. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you are sharing sensitive personal or mental health information, please note that standard contact forms and email are not always fully secure or HIPAA-compliant channels. If you have concerns, feel free to reach out by phone instead.
Children's Privacy
This Site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this Site.
Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information I hold about you. California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). To make a request, contact me using the information below.
Changes to This Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
